The Yale University Art Gallery and Center for British Art were the first and last major works of architecture by Louis Kahn, one of the great architects of the 20th Century. They were designed in 1953 and 1974 respectively, face each other across Chapel Street, and are both free to visit, so give a unique opportunity to understand Kahn's visual and philosophical progression over twenty-plus years.
